Kate Chastain Reacts to Rachel Hargrove's Behavior at the Below Deck Beach Day

The Below Deckalum previously worked with the Season 8 chef.

Rachel Hargrove turned heads with her behavior during the Below Deck crew's beach day off in the January 11 episode of the show. However, a familiar face to Below Deck fans is coming to the chef's defense.

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck on Bravo Mondays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

Kate Chastain showed support for Rachel, who she actually worked with on a yacht back in 2013, on Twitter as she watched the latest episode of Below Deck. "Rachel has absolutely nailed every single guest meal the entire season and earned the bulk of all the tips," the Below Deck alum tweeted on January 11. "She’s allowed to let loose on her one day off."

Seeing Rachel step up to the mic onstage with the band at the beach club during the episode prompted Kate to point out on Twitter, "And btw Rachel is a surprisingly good singer and dancer."

Rachel responded to Kate's tweet, "I have my moments..."

Kate previously weighed in on another buzzy moment of Rachel's, her outburst during a preference sheet meeting earlier this season of Below Deck, while appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in December. "I mean, I've worked with Rachel in the past, so I wasn't surprised," Kate said, before adding about her comments in front of Captain Lee Rosbach, "That's what I like about Rachel: She is so wild and crazy, but she's so creative even when she's being crazy... And that's one of the reasons I think she's a great chef. She's very creative."

Rachel confirmed that she and Kate are still in touch today during her previous appearance on WWHL in December. She also shared how much she enjoyed working with Kate back in the day. "It was great. She's got a very dry sense of humor, and I've got my saltiness, as you just put it [laughs]," Rachel told host Andy Cohen. "So together, it was dynamic, it was fun, and we kept our boss entertained as well."
