Rachel Zoe: 'I'm Always Going to Style'

Designing takes a backseat to RZ's famous clientele.

By Lauren Metz

Ladies first. When it comes to Rachel Zoe's booming career, Anne, Cameron, and Kate will always have first dibs. "I'm always going to style. It's the core of what I do. It's who I am," the super stylist tells New York Magazine. "I love my clients."

But no pressure to wear Rach's newborn clothing line, Eva Mendes and Jennifer Garner. "If they wear it, great. If they don't, that's okay too," the newly minted mom and designer adds. "Definitely not forcing it in their faces." Still, in spite of her humble approach, A-listers like Jennifer Lopez are scooping up Rachel's debut pieces, probably due in part to the intense attention to detail she put into the line.

"I've worked with a lot of designers. I really understand the design process. It is so much fun, but it is a lot of work," explains The Rachel Zoe Project star. "I picked this sequin out of ten thousand sequins, I picked this wool out of a hundred wools, I picked this faux fur out of four hundred samples of faux fur."

Hard work pays off. On Friday, the couture maven tweeted, "Fitting models for my NYFW presentation on Monday!!! Pinch me, am I dreaming?"

Watch Rachel transform her design dreams into reality Tuesdays on The Rachel Zoe Project at 10/9c.
