Rachel Zoe Spills on Her Styling Fee... Sorta

The celeb stylist fires back about reports of an "astronomical" Oscar bill.

Shut the front door. Rumor is that Rachel Zoe charged an "astronomical" fee to style longtime client Anne Hathaway for the Oscars, or so says NY Mag. Her response to the outlandish claim? "It's just classic ridiculousness," the red carpet's most famous stylist tells Entertainment Weekly. "I have no idea who would ever know that and why they would say that. It just seems so silly. It's nobody else's business. Nobody else talks about what they make and what they do."

Astronomical or not, the fashion trooper was nine months pregnant and managed to pull off Anne's eight dramatic looks for the night – without any MIA dresses, stains, rips, or other gasp-worthy fashion nightmares. "It was the ultimate fantasy for both of us," Rachel continues. "Almost all of it was [custom]. We were pretty specific about what we wanted, and there were a few that didn't make it, but most of them were custom for her. Probably 70 percent."

Perfecting every last detail, RZ even had the Oscar co-host's shoes custom made. How's that for earning your paycheck? "The clothes weren't only custom and couture, but they actually had to be functional. She had to be able to move," the mom-to-be spills. "Brian Atwood made her these incredible custom shoes she wore with her Lanvin tuxedo. As beautiful as they are, we had to make sure she could dance in them, move in them."
