Kandi Explains Missing Some Events on RHOA Season 15: "I Was Already In an Intense Situation"
During Part 1 of the RHOA Season 15 reunion, Kandi Burruss defended herself for missing a few of the group events.
After a dramatic finale, The Real Housewives of Atlanta ladies — including cast members Marlo Hampton, Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Drew Sidora, Shereé Whitfield, Sanya Richards-Ross, and friends Courtney R. Rhodes and Monyetta Shaw-Carter — got together in New York City to talk about the biggest moments of the season for the Season 15 reunion.
On Part 1 of the reunion aka Episode 17, which aired on September 3, Drew talked about her recent split from husband Ralph Pittman (and her starring role in Peacock's The Pass), Marlo shared an update on her relationship with Scotley Innis, Shereé revealed something shocking about where she stands with Martell Holt, and Kandi opened up about why she wasn't around for some of the big group events.

Why Kandi Burruss Missed Events on RHOA Season 15
In the closing moments of Part 1, reunion host Andy Cohen read out a fan question about Kandi's absence from some of the group gatherings.
"Coming into this season, I was already in an intense situation with my group [Xscape]," Kandi replied, referencing the events featured on the Bravo series SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B (which you can stream on Peacock now). "It was public, so pretty much I was ready for the smoke with any and everybody."
Though it may have seemed like the ladies were getting on Kandi's "last nerve" and that she didn't want to be at certain events, the Grammy Award-winning songstress said that she was just too booked and busy at the time.
"That's how I was coming into this season, but it's not that I don't want to be here," she continued. "I had bit off more than I could chew, basically."
What Kandi Burruss Has Been Up to Since RHOA Season 15
As Kandi herself said, she was very preoccupied with her businesses and her creative projects during RHOA Season 15.
After chronicling the production process for her and husband Todd Tucker's film, The Pass (which stars Drew), the couple released the film on Peacock on August 27.
Though their collaboration together was a success, Kandi and Drew aren't exactly on the best of terms, as they revealed during the reunion. Learn more about their reunion disagreement and find out if they resolved their issues by catching up on the episode on Peacock.
Tune in to Part 2 on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. An uncensored edition of the reunion episodes will stream exclusively the next day on Peacock.
