Where Does Kyle Richards Stand With Her Sisters?

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards recently lost her longtime friend Lorene, and she reflected on that loss in an emotional Instagram post she shared recently about her friend’s passing.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

And when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen this week, she opened up about how the passing of her friend affected her relationship with her sisters, Kim Richards and Kathy Hilton.

“Oddly enough, this whole situation of losing my best friend, Lorene, my sisters and I are speaking again because they’ve also known Lorene since she was 7, so life works in funny ways,” she explained, adding a specific update on where she was with Kathy prior to the loss. “We were having a little bit of a rough patch.”

She then shared some info on her situation with Kim, saying, “Kim, we have good and rough patches, here and there, as you may have heard, but no, we’re all in a good situation right now.”

Kyle opened up about her friendship with Lorene and her passing in a message she posted last week, in which she also shared photos from their decades-long friendship with each other.

“I never imagined I would be posting something like this … this is my best friend Lorene … my best friend since I was 7 years old. My other half. We did everything together… from losing our baby teeth, to having babies [and] everything in between [and] everything that followed. She was kind, thoughtful, funny, smart, beautiful, sentimental… The most important thing in the world to her was being a good Mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt [and] friend (dog Mom too)," Kyle wrote in tribute to Lorene.

The tribute continued, “We spoke every day [and] shared everything that was happening in our lives. We would laugh until we cried, call each other out [and] be there for each other no matter what was going on in our lives. Not that long ago she started to suffer from debilitating depression. She had always been a happy person. How did this happen? All who loved her rallied around her and did everything that could be done to get her help. But the system is broken. The system made it impossible to get her the help she needed. This past Sunday we lost Lorene. The system failed her! The system failed her loved ones who are now left in unbearable pain. I will do whatever it takes to try [and] help change the laws that are in place that prevent people from getting the help they need.”

Kyle ended the tribute with “I love you Lorene. Rest In Peace. Please keep her [and] her loved ones in your thoughts [and] prayers.”

During her appearance on WWHL this week, Kyle opened up more about the loss and used the time to raise awareness about mental health issues. “It’s Mental Health Awareness Month,” she said. “And I really want to do something to try and help, because it’s impossible to try to get someone the help that they need when they really can’t think for themselves.”
