In addition to explaining why they've had "a challenging year together" in a confessional interview, Kyle engaged in a tense conversation with her husband about their conflicting schedules and, believe it or not, her tattoos

The latest on the couple's marriage comes after months of them being subject to separation rumors, which are sure to pop up throughout Season 13 as a press release for the show's return reads, "With her 27-year marriage in turmoil and her relationship with her sister in limbo, Kyle reaches her breaking point after the tabloids — and those closest to her — question her budding friendship with a well-known country singer."

To see what Kyle revealed and how her and Mauricio's conversation unfolded, keep reading.

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky's "Challenging Year Together"

In a confessional interview, Kyle explained, "Mo and I have had a challenging year together. He has been working non-stop [and] I've been working. When you have to schedule a meeting to go over your schedule, you know it's a problem."

Kyle Richards' Recent "Painful Times"

While having the aforementioned meeting, Mauricio complimented Kyle's commitment to her new wellness routine. "You look so good," he said. "You're working out like a beast right now, you're eating well, you're not drinking. Like, you're changing your life."

Kyle then elaborated about why she's been making the changes in a confessional. Referencing her and Mauricio's problems, as well as the RHOBH Season 12 drama with her cast mates and her sister Kathy Hilton, she said, "When you go through painful times in your life, it changes you as a person. My sister, feeling let down by my friends, feeling disconnected from my husband, you know, you have to find an outlet. I feel good about it and I hope Mo does too, because here I am."

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky's Major Disagreement

Kyle and Mauricio's conversation turned to the subject of her five tattoos after he noticed the one on her ankle and asked, "How many tattoos do you have right now?"

"Seriously?" he said after she answered him. "I only knew of three."

"Well, maybe you should be looking at my body closer," Kyle responded, adding in a confessional, "This is clearly a big symptom of not spending time together. Years ago, he would've noticed a freckle on my body. Now he doesn't know that I have two more tattoos."

Back in the conversation, Mauricio said, "I think that's enough, yeah? Five tattoos is a lot."

Kyle disagreed and the two wound up going back and forth for a bit. Kyle, however, ultimately concluded, "If I want one, I'm going to get one. It's my body. You don't have a choice."

"I'm at a point in my life [where] I don't have to explain anything to anybody anymore, including you," she continued. "I went from doing everything my mom told me to do to being a mom myself and having to be a good example to my girls and I've just realized that you can do all that and things can still go to sh-t. I don't know if it's what happened with my sister or what, but I just don't feel like I have to answer to anybody."
