Sutton Stracke Shares a Surprising Update on Her Friendship with Erika Jayne
The RHOBH cast member also revealed whether she’s been sliding into anyone’s DMs lately to go on dates.
After several seasons of not getting along, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Sutton Stracke and Erika Jayne are officially putting the past behind them.
The Sutton Concept owner and the Pretty Mess author’s issues with each other began on Season 11 of RHOBH, and they continued to disagree on the 12th season as well. However, during an event celebrating the anniversary of her clothing store, Sutton shared a surprising update on her friendship with Erika and revealed that the two have decided to move forward for one very simple reason.
“I think we got tired. I think we got tired of fighting. I think we just got worn out,” Sutton joked to Access Hollywood about her long-simmering feud with Erika. “You know, we’re both Southern, and we just were like… ‘Can we just please stop?’”
In addition to their shared Southern roots bringing them closer together, Sutton and Erika have something else in common: They’re both single.
As Sutton explained to Access Hollywood, she’s still looking for her perfect match. And while she hasn’t been checking her Instagram DMs to see if any eligible bachelors have slid in, she’s still open to the idea of meeting someone on the app.
“I don’t think that 51-year-olds know how to slide into the DMs,” Sutton joked. “They’re welcome to, [but] I don’t really check ’em. That’s my prob[lem], maybe I don’t check the DMs enough.”
Back on Season 12 of RHOBH, Sutton highlighted her sometimes complicated dating journey following her split from her boyfriend Michael. (She’s been divorced from Christian Stracke since 2016.)
Though she hit it off in person with an online match named Sanjit — even while wearing a cat sweater on their date, much to the amusement of her RHOBH castmates — a message shown at the end of the Season 12 finale confirmed that the two decided to just be friends.
Afterward, Sutton’s best friend, actress Jennifer Tilly, said the mom of three was also enjoying her experience on the dating app Bumble.
“Yes, I’m very protective of little Miss Sutton because, you know, she gets all excited. She thinks Bumble is like a candy store,” the Chucky actress shared during an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen back in October 2022. “She’s like, ‘That one, that one, that one, that one.’ I’m like ‘Sutton, no…’”
As Sutton continues to explore her Bumble options, she may also start checking her Instagram DMs more frequently for potential suitors.
