To commemorate International Sons Day on March 4, The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member shared a post on Instagram confirming that her youngest child is transgender. She also noted that her 12-year-old’s name is Ace. Heather and her husband, Botched plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow, also share twins Maximillia “Max” and Nicholas and daughter Katarina “Kat.”

“It’s International Sons Day! We love you, our youngest son, Ace,” Heather wrote in the caption of her post, which featured a photo of the word “Ace” drawn in the sand on a beach. “Our job as parents is to give our kids a safe and supportive environment so they can grow up as healthy, happy, confident, independent humans. Since Ace is a 12-year-old child, with a long life ahead of him — we will let him tell his own story someday if he chooses to do so.”

The mom of four went on to write that the rest of Ace’s family is in his corner.

“All we can say is Ace, we love you so much and we are proud to be your parents,” Heather added. “Your brother and sisters love and support you too.”

Ace’s sisters shared their “love and support” in the comments of Heather’s post. Max, who confirmed she is bisexual on Instagram in 2020 and who is currently a freshman at Tufts University, wrote, “Love you Ace.” Kat, who came out as a lesbian in 2022, posted three red heart emojis

In addition to Ace’s siblings, many Bravolebrities also took to the comments to share their support for the tween and his parents.

Andy Cohen simply posted half a dozen clapping hands emojis. RHOC’s Gina Kirschenheiter added, “Love you and your whole family! You’re [mom goals], always have been and continue to be!!!” Fellow RHOC cast member Emily Simpson shared red heart emojis as well.

RHOC alum Alexis Bellino, who announced that her son, Miles, is transgender in October 2022, added a message of support as well. “We love you Ace!!!!!!!” Meghan King, another RHOC alum, wrote, “Yay Ace! Here’s to celebrating your authentic self and living out loud!”

In response to all the positive comments, Ace’s dad shared his gratitude as well. “Thank you all for spreading the love,” Terry wrote.

Heather also thanked The Real Housewives of New York City's Bethenny Frankel for her "love and support" after Bethenny posted a sweet message for the family, opened up about her decades-long friendship with Heather, and shared how Ace and Bryn have become fast friends after meeting in Aspen.
