Melissa Gorga Gives an Update on Antonia's Cheering: "Life Goes Full Circle"
The RHONJ mom shared some exciting news about her daughter following her injury.
We have some big news about Antonia Gorga's cheer career. Melissa Gorga took to Instagram on Tuesday, April 5, to share that while she was watching the latest episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (which follows Antonia's journey and training after her injury), she had an exciting update on how Antonia is doing.
In the April 5 episode, Antonia not only had a heart-to-heart with her mom about her struggles but also told her trainer that she enjoys tumbling — and that's clearly the case. "Look how life goes full circle! While I'm watching RHONJ, [Antonia] walked in from her cheer banquet [and] won the 'best tumbler' award!!! This is why I pushed her!! I guided her!! I know she wanted it," Melissa posted on Instagram. She also shared a video of Antonia in action, saying, "This is her tumbling again just last week!!!" and adding the hashtag We don't quit.
Previously, Melissa spoke to Bravo Insider about her daughter's injury as well as the stuff she was going through during Season 12. "You'll see that [the move to a new home is] a little rough on Antonia. There's a lot going on with Antonia because she's pulled out of her high school, and she tore her ACL and she can't cheer and she needs to be in rehabilitation. And it's not easy pulling a teenager out of their high school, and there's a lot of new stuff going on. She also turns her Sweet 16 this year. So I just feel like for me, it's a lot," Melissa said. "It's a big year of change, and moving and starting over and just trying new things."
She added, "I do [see myself in her]. She's tough. She's definitely an opinionated [person], a tough cookie, which I love. But also I struggle with going head-to-head with her a lot, and I think she knows how to push my buttons. I think we have, like, a real mother-daughter relationship — and I am her mother before I am her friend, so we bump heads sometimes. But at the end of the day, I think she knows that I am always doing what's best for her."
BTW, Melissa's sons, Gino and Joey, are also thriving, as she recently shared on Instagram. "It's crazy how we just filmed the show like 6 months ago! And watching even my boys on TV tonight they look dramatically different [and] younger [than] this picture taken this weekend!" she shared. "I cannot believe how kids change so quickly."
