Melissa Gorga Teases Fans Will "See Deep Into a Lot of Relationships" in RHONJ Season 12
The RHONJ cast member says even she is "never, like, not shocked" by some of the revelations.
Right out of the gate, Season 12 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has been all about the women's relationships with their significant others. The season kicked off with chatter and revelations, and you can bet that even Melissa Gorga is still sometimes surprised by what she hears, even all these years later.
"I’m always shocked. I mean, I’m never, like, not shocked," she shared in a recent interview with Bravo Insider. She further noted, "It’s just a huge relationship season. You will really see deep into a lot of relationships this season, a lot of them are changing, a lot of them aren’t what you thought they were. So it’s a big relationship season."
Considering that Melissa has been on the RHONJ cast since Season 3, she has gotten used to maneuvering any conversations and drama happening around her with the Garden State group.
"I think that’s the beautiful thing about being on for so long. I’m just comfortable saying when I’m uncomfortable now, you know," she said. "I really am. I’m OK telling people they’re wrong. I feel like I’m also very good at, like, you know, realizing that we’re a group together on this show and we are all a team and we are all dealing with things, but I also am very happy at home with my family and my sisters."
"I think that keeps me grounded, and I learned not to wear it too heavily because I go home, and I have a lot going on," Melissa continued. "I have my new podcast [Melissa Gorga On Display] that’s out now that I’m super excited about. We have three kids, we have wrestling, we have cheer, I’m building a house. There’s more to life than, than, you know, arguing with your girlfriends."
In the years since her first season, Melissa has really grown as a woman and entrepreneur, and she has pursued all kinds of passions, including pop music and fashion in the form of opening up her Envy boutique, as well as her aforementioned podcast, all while balancing motherhood and her marriage to Joe Gorga.
Melissa also reflected on who she was back in Season 3 after recently seeing a marathon of past seasons of RHONJ on Bravo. "They have been re-running, like, Season 3, 4, 5 when I was literally just 31 and had [my son] Joe, like, in my arms as a 2-month-old [baby]. And I was watching these re-runs, and I’m like, 'Wow, I have changed so much in 10 years.' I mean, it’s like 11 years now, but I’ve just changed so much, and I’ve evolved so much and I’m actually, I’m proud of it. I am proud of my independence," she said. "I feel a lot more brave, and I feel a lot more independent than I was on Season 3, and that’s just, it’s very, like, empowering."
As for what advice she would offer up to that Melissa, well, she shared, "I mean, I think I was more worried about making everyone else happy. I was very concerned about my husband feeling OK with the fact that I joined a reality TV show. I was in TV mode with the babies everywhere, and I just I feel like it was all about everyone else," she said. "Right now, I just feel like I’m taking care of everyone else, but I’m also taking care of myself."
BTW, she also had one more observation about those throwback RHONJ episodes: "I feel like I, I have my groove, but it is crazy how you watch it back and I’m just like, 'Wow. First of all, the outfits, the makeup, the jewelry.' I’m like, 'What is happening over here?' So funny."
