Rachel Fuda Reacts to Teresa and Louie’s Phone Call About Melissa and Joe Gorga

The caught-on-camera phone call revealed Louie’s plan to exclude the Gorgas from a dinner involving the rest of the RHONJ cast.

Teresa Giudice has, on more than one occasion, delivered a speech in which she expressed her gratitude to her “chosen family,” rather than her brother, Joe Gorga, and his wife, Melissa Gorga. But is that intentional?

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/7c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

A Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen viewer asked Rachel Fuda this very question on May 2. More specifically, as they put it, “Do you think Teresa intentionally makes these ‘chosen family’ speeches and leaves Melissa out, like she did at her shower, or do you think she genuinely doesn’t realize she’s doing that?”

Rachel said “it feels intentional.” What’s more, this was “especially” the case on Season 13 Episode 13, because shortly before Teresa delivered the speech, “she’s on the phone with Louie, and he’s leaving [Melissa and Joe] out of a dinner.”

As fans may recall, Teresa and Luis “Louie” Ruelas had an awkward phone call caught on camera during which he admitted that he didn’t plan to invite Melissa and Joe to a pre-wedding dinner with the rest of the RHONJ cast. As Louie put it, “I’m going to send a text out for next Thursday night. So who am I sending a text to? Dolores [Catania] plus one, Margaret [Josephs] plus one, Jennifer [Aydin] plus one, Jackie [Goldschneider] plus one, those people,” Louie told Teresa over the phone. “[I’m] just [gonna] put the invite out to all of them, except Melissa and Joe. I’m not inviting them.”

Teresa ultimately shut down the suggestion, but not for the reason you might think. Instead, she said, “The camera’s on. We’re filming.”

“Oh sh-t, OK,” Louie responded before Teresa insisted they “have to invite everyone.”

“You can’t just do some and not the others,” she added.

Rachel was also asked about this particular aspect of the conversation. More specifically, as host Andy Cohen phrased it, “Would Tre have told Louie they had to invite Melissa and Joe if the call wasn’t on camera?”

“No way,” Rachel said. “It’s, like, common sense, you guys.”

She later set the drama aside in an attempt to share her advice for Teresa, Melissa, and Joe and how they might be able to save their relationship. “I think you have to let go of the past in order to move forward,” Rachel explained. “I think that’s the biggest piece of advice, right? You have to be willing to let it go and move on.”
