Ashley Darby Shares a Poignant Message About “Love”
The RHOP cast member started 2023 with some thoughts on why love is “truly a blessing.”
Ashley Darby is starting off 2023 with a serious reflection on love.
As fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac know, the OG cast member announced her separation from her husband, Michael Darby, to The Daily Dish in the spring of 2022. While Ashley has highlighted some of the difficulties of her split on RHOP Season 7, she’s now taking a more positive outlook in the new year.
After posting a selfie on her Instagram Stories with a caption that read, “Things just keep getting better,” the mom of Dean Michael Darby and Dylan Matthew Darby shared some thoughts about the “blessing” of finding love.
“Love is really beautiful, right?” Ashley told her followers just a few days into 2023. “And, the ability to give love, to receive love, is amazing. It’s an incredible opportunity.”
While Ashley herself has experienced that “beautiful” kind of love, she noted that “some people” don’t get that chance.
“Unfortunately, there are some people who want it and yearn for it and never get it, or, because of maybe their upbringing or something they’ve been through, they don’t know how to receive it or get it,” she added, though she did not share whether she was thinking of anyone in particular with that sentiment. “So, like, if we’re capable of showing and giving love, gosh, it is a blessing. Truly a blessing, because it’s not always a given.”
Ashley’s thoughts on love arrived shortly after she revealed her unexpected New Year’s resolution on Instagram.
“Don’t panic, Mom,” the mother of two wrote in a Story on December 28. “But, this is my New Year’s resolution — rafting in the Falls!”
So far, it looks like Ashley is all about rafting, reflections, and keeping it real in 2023.
