The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member opened up on the mystery.

What Heather Gay Said About Her Black Eye on RHOSLC Season 3
Heather first opened up about her injury after reunion host Andy Cohen pointed out that she had previously made conflicting claims about it: “You didn’t know what happened, you knew what happened, everybody here knows what happened, some people here know what happened…”
Her response? “I blacked out,” Heather told Andy and her RHOSLC castmates. “I don’t know how it happened.”
Lisa Barlow then chimed in and said she wished Heather had just said that from the get-go.
“I would’ve choked on the words, Lisa. It was humiliating,” Heather responded. “I don’t want to black out. I don’t want to get drunk and blackout and have no memory of it. It was terrifying and it was humiliating.”
Reflecting on her decision to leave Mormonism, she explained that she has “a lot of Mormon shame about drinking.”
That, combined with waking up “in a very high-stress situation with so much shame and humiliation,” along with the fact that she couldn’t “hide” the black eye, forced Heather to deal with the injury in her own way, “which is just humor and [making] it go away.”
“I certainly don’t want to implicate anyone here,” Heather added. “It’s my own guilt and shame about blacking out and not being able to explain it.”
What Really Caused Heather Gay's Black Eye
While confronting Season 4 newcomer Monica Garcia about the Instagram account she had secretly been running, Heather revealed a new piece of information regarding the black eye she got during Season 3.
Once Heather revealed the news, a few of her castmates had strong reactions.
"Woah, woah," Lisa said when she heard the news, while Meredith simply said, "What?"
The surprising development came after Heather appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in September 2023. There, she shared if she would potentially reveal more details about her black eye in the future, noting that in Season 4 of RHOSLC, "It's a very, very complicated season. I think people should tune in and a lot of things are revealed, a lot of mysteries are revealed this season. Theres a lot of healing and with a lot of healing, there's a lot of closure."
Heather also spoke more about the injury in The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show clip above. She's sure to do the same on the upcoming RHOSLC Season 4 reunion.
