Ryan Serhant has lived his life out loud for six seasons as one of the agents on Million Dollar Listing New York, and now he's about to give fans an even deeper look at his life as a salesperson on Sell It Like Serhant, which premieres on Thursday, April 11 at 10/9c. However, there is one thing that Ryan has kept under wraps for the past year. 

Ryan is set to release his very first book, Sell It Like Serhant: How to Sell More, Earn More, and Become the Ultimate Sales Machine, he announced on Instagram Wednesday. "Here we go... I’ve kept this a secret for a REALLY LONG TIME but...I wrote a book!" Ryan exclaimed, adding in the caption to the post that he's been writing the book for nearly a year. "I love you all for giving me this life that has brought me to today."

Ryan explained in the Instagram post how he built his career as a salesperson "from the ground up" without "a boss or a mentor or formal sales training." He's also been keeping notes on just about everything throughout his career, from his first day in the real estate business in September 2008, the start of the economic crisis, to what he learned from working with the craziest clients to how to build a team, brand, and business. And now he's sharing all of the knowledge he's amassed over the years to help others become lean, mean, "ultimate sales machines" with this new book.

The Sell It Like Serhant star opened up about the inspiration behind the book during a recent interview with PEOPLE. “I believe that anyone can succeed in sales and I wanted to write a book that was fun while also providing clear steps to creating an incredible sales career,” Ryan explained. “This is the playbook for learning how to sell anything — whether it’s real estate or kitchen cabinets or insurance or shoes.” 

Ryan also teased to PEOPLE that the book, which hits shelves September 18, 2018, will be filled with Ryan's signature sense of humor. “I think fans can also expect to laugh at my expense as most of my life and the deals I’ve done, and talk about in this book, are ridiculous,” he said.
