Austen Kroll has been hard at work creating his own beer, as seen most recently on Southern Charm Season 5. He finally got it just right and held a tasting party for his friends and family during the season — even going so far as to ask them to help him choose a name. While he didn't finalize a name at the party, Austen revealed a few more developments during Part 2 of the Southern Charm reunion, specifically that his first batch of beer is "tentatively" called "Trop Hop" (as in "tropical hop").

And it appears that since the reunion, Austen has made even more progress. He recently posted on Instagram announcing his company King's Calling Brewing Co., and noted that a release date will be announced soon.

He also posted a preview of Trop Hop's logo and can design.

"It definitely is moving forward," Austen told The Daily Dish podcast last month. "People's past failures on the show with them trying to start things, [like] a false website and things of that nature, [has] driven me to [be like], no, it's not going to be like that; it's happening. It has to happen because a lot of wheels are in motion."

"It takes a lot to get to this level, where you can actually hold it in your hand physically," he continued. "I'm trying to figure it all out by myself and of course I ask friends and I run things by them but if I'm going to be putting something out there with my name behind it, I definitely want it to be as good as possible. There's not a team of people doing this; it's kind of me and my brewer and some money backers."

Austen said both Shep [Rose] and Whitney [Sudler-Smith] have expressed interest in getting involved with his beer, but Austen wants to go it alone for now. However, he says he would definitely be open to getting the guys involved going forward. "At some point in the future, it would be really cool to be, like ... 'Craig [Conover], how about you come in and you develop a beer of yours and we name it some punny law term?' and the same with Shep, a beachy [name]."

As Southern Charm fans know, Austen's long been a fan of beer. "Beer to me is like a very refreshing beverage ... When I have a long day, I think about a beer at the end of the day. So then I kind of got to a point where I was like, I want to do my own," he explained. And it looks like he's well on his way!
