Has Naomie Olindo Been in Touch with Elizabeth Madison Since Calling Out J.D. on Southern Charm?
Naomie responds to Elizabeth's "disappointing" reaction to the buzzy moment.
After Naomie Olindo called out J.D. Madison for rumors she heard about his marriage earlier this season of Southern Charm, his wife Elizabeth Madison responded to the allegations on Twitter. "There is nothing worse than having [who] you thought was a friend make false allegations & take my PRIVACY & my OWN voice away! She is making allegations about JD & my family that are not true!" Elizabeth tweeted (she has since deactivated her Twitter account). "This has hurt me more than I can express. This BS didn’t come from me!”
Naomie recently told The Daily Dish that she was sorry to see Elizabeth, whom she had considered a friend, react that way. "I texted her and just said, 'This is really disappointing. It's one thing if this is what you choose, but why would you throw me under the bus and discredit what I did?'" Naomie shared. "When we were filming, she and I talked every single day. I talked to her before the dinner and I talked to her after the dinner and told her exactly what was said. I mean, we were laughing on the phone together. So it's so crazy to me that now it's like she's trying to rewrite history. My hands are clean from it. I want nothing to do with it anymore, obviously, but it was just so weird how the reaction and the tweets and stuff, it was just very disappointing."
Naomie explained in the Southern Charm After Show (clip above) why seeing J.D. at Shep Rose's birthday barbecue sent her over the edge. "Basically, the ingredients to Shep's birthday were two bottles of wine and really just seeing J.D. and knowing that he had been saying around town that he was hoping that Liz would get the help that she needed and kind of blaming everything on her, saying that she fell out of love with him, she hurt him, and all this stuff," she said.
Though Naomie said that she and Danni Baird had comforted Elizabeth nearly every day during the couple's separation, J.D. claimed that the two maybe weren't that close in the Southern Charm After Show. "You know, Naomie's been to our house two, maybe three, times since we've known her, and for her to portray herself as this great friend of Elizabeth's is really, it's hurtful," he said. "The truth is Elizabeth never needed to get picked up off the floor, and she never did that. I think Naomie mixed a little bit of several different issues, and it wasn't in the best interest of Elizabeth."
Naomie said that it's been difficult to see Elizabeth come to J.D.'s defense on Twitter and in comments she made during a previous interview with The Daily Dish. "I would just describe it as one giant eye roll for me. I don't know if you've noticed. I'm not great at the bullsh--ty, keeping up appearances and stuff, and that seems to be all they care about," she told The Daily Dish. "Just whatever."
J.D. told The Daily Dish last month that he and Elizabeth are still separated today, but they are committed to working on their relationship. "We remain separated, but the good news is that we are not entertaining divorce at this time. We are taking things very slowly and looking at our relationship with new eyes," he explained. "We are going to a marriage counselor, and who knows? If we can put our pasts aside, I may court her all over again! What a roller coaster!"
