Amanda Batula Gives an Update on Her Friendship with Lindsay Hubbard
The Summer House cast member also revealed where she stands with Carl Radke now that he no longer works for Loverboy.
A [Summer] House divided? Based on Amanda Batula’s latest updates on her friendships with Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke, that seems to be the case.
Amanda appeared on the Chicks in the Office podcast on Wednesday, February 22, alongside her Summer House and Winter House castmate Ciara Miller, and it was there that she was asked when she had last spoken with Lindsay. More specifically, Amanda revealed if they had been in touch since she went on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in October.
“No, I have not heard from her at all,” Amanda responded. “And I didn’t reach out after the Instagram stuff.”
As fans may recall, the “Instagram stuff” refers to Lindsay’s response to what Amanda said during her WWHL appearance. While playing a game with Andy, she and Paige DeSorbo were asked to name the Summer House cast member who’s “rudest” to fans. Amanda’s response? Lindsay “can be” when she’s “caught off guard.”
An upset Lindsay later took to Instagram to share photos from all the Loverboy events she has attended over the years, in addition to arguing that she regularly interacts with her fans.
From there, things only got tenser. Two months after her WWHL appearance, Amanda was asked where things “stand right now” with Lindsay, to which she responded, “We don’t stand. We haven’t spoken at all.”
Today, that’s still true for the most part — although Amanda did explain on the Chicks in the Office podcast that upon running into each other at the Summer House Season 7 premiere party, they remained cordial.
“It was an ‘Oh hi!’ like she was shocked to see me there,” Amanda said.
As for her friendship with Lindsay’s fiancé, Carl — who recently confirmed that he’s no longer working for Loverboy, although he remains a “proud” investor — Amanda said she and her husband, Kyle Cooke, are “in a different place” with him compared to “a year and a half ago at my wedding when he officiated it.”
“I mean, I still love Carl,” Amanda added. “But he is Kyle’s friend.”
At the same time, she acknowledged that her drama with Lindsay could also be contributing to any ongoing tension between Kyle and Carl. “He probably is feeling like keeping more of a distance just because of where we stand, Lindsay and I. And that’s what a boyfriend, now fiancé, should do, so I don’t fault him for it,” Amanda said. “But definitely creates some tension.”
