Tom Schwartz Reveals He “Strayed a Few Times” While Married to Katie

Appearing alongside his Vanderpump Rules castmate Tom Sandoval on WWHL, Schwartz admitted he was “a sloppy douchebag” at times while married to Katie.

The Vanderpump Rules Season 10 premiere pulled back the curtain on Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz’s divorce, and he got even more candid about the split during a subsequent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

How to Watch

After Tom shared an update on how things are between him and Katie today — “We’re in a pretty good place,” he said on the February 8 episode — Andy asked if Tom had remained “faithful” during his five-year marriage.

“Uhhh. Well, I think you guys know, if you’ve watched the show,” Tom responded. “I strayed a few times. There were times where I thought the relationship was gonna come to an end and I was a sloppy douchebag.” (Katie, for her part, previously stated that any cheating that occurred was not to blame for the divorce.)

Appearing alongside Schwartz on WWHL, Tom Sandoval elaborated on Schwartz’s “sloppy” tendencies, calling him a “make-out slut.” Schwartz agreed with his assessment, adding, “I’m capable of having a one-night stand and they’re lovely, but I just love how low stakes a good make-out session is.”

That is, unless the make-out session involves someone Katie and Tom are both friends with — otherwise, that would be breaking the one rule they made post-split: Don’t get involved with anyone in the shared friend group.

Unfortunately for Schwartz, the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 trailer showed that he didn’t hold up his end of the bargain, as he wound up kissing Raquel Leviss. Andy asked on WWHL if he had any regrets about it, to which Schwartz responded, “I’m gonna go on the record — no regrets. Although I regret I hurt Katie’s feelings.”

The drama is still to come on this season of Vanderpump Rules as Katie and Tom continue to navigate their divorce — or, as Schwartz would prefer to describe it, “I wanna start a happy new beginning without you.”

“We gotta rebrand divorce,” Schwartz told BravoTV.com ahead of the Season 10 premiere. “We gotta get rid of the stigma. If you’re not happy — I mean, I was happy… but she wasn’t. It’s complicated. Anyways, if you’re not happy, don’t stick it out for the sake of sticking it out, OK?”
