Tom Schwartz Opens Up on the "Biggest Fight" He's Ever Had with Tom Sandoval

Tom Sandoval was largely missing from the Season 11 premiere of Vanderpump Rules on January 30, but the episode still made it clear that his friendship with Tom Schwartz is in a tough spot. 

One of the biggest indicators of this was Schwartz's conversation with James Kennedy, during which he opened up about feeling ostracized from not just the rest of the group, but public life as a whole following Sandoval's betrayal of Ariana Madix.

Schwartz explained on the Season 11 premiere that in a sense, he feels like he's being held responsible for Sandoval's actions. When speaking to James, he even thanked him for "extending me some empathy in remembering that I'm not Tom Sandoval." 

James, for his part, said, "You're your best Tom when you're just Tom Schwartz. You're not your best Tom when it's Tom Tom."

Not everyone is being as generous, though. "The way the rest of the gang has been treating me, I almost have to look in the mirror and be like, 'You're not Tom Sandoval,'" Schwartz shared in a confessional.

Details on Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval's "Biggest Fight" Ever

As Schwartz's conversation with James continued, he eventually brought up the "biggest fight" he's ever had with Sandoval, which turned over the name of their bar, Schwartz and Sandy's. 

"He campaigned so hard — mister marketing genius — to put that name on the side of the building," Schwartz said. "[But] when you do that, you have to hold yourself to a higher standard."

However, after Sandoval's recent behavior, "Schwartz and Sandy's became the scene of the crime." 

As such, Schwartz currently has "a lot of resentment for Tom Sandoval." 

"I got enough problems in my life. I'm just like, I did not need this. My god, man," Schwartz continued, reflecting on the difficult experiences he's faced in recent months, including his split from Katie Maloney and family health issues. "Last year almost just broke me. I got divorced, my brother Bert has been having some serious health issues, we had so many bar issues..." 

Basically, Sandoval's actions served as "a radioactive cherry on top of my sh-t sundae of a year," Schwartz concluded.
