The SURver and the DJ called off their engagement shortly before the Vanderpump Rules Season 9 reunion taped in December 2021, and James went public with his relationship with girlfriend Ally Lewber by March 2022.

His ex has since been associated with Tom Sandoval, whose relationship with Ariana Madix came to an end in March 2023 amid rumors that he had been unfaithful. However, Sandoval himself said on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast that he is “not putting any label on” his relationship Raquel, as they are “just kind of taking a break.”

Fellow Vanderpump Rules cast members Katie Maloney, Scheana Shay, Lala Kent, and Tom Schwartz have commented on Raquel’s connection to Sandoval during separate appearances on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohenand now James has done the same.

On the April 26 episode of the talk series, host Andy Cohen asked James if he “still care[d]” about Raquel “as a person” amid the recent drama surrounding her personal life.

“I am very busy in my own life. Like, I’m not waking up thinking about [it],” he said of the drama. “The first time I have to look at my phone, yeah, I get a little bit of a reminder. But no, I’m not really thinking about [it]. I have no time, Andy.”

In addition to being busy in his DJ career, James is also happily dating Ally, whom he has referred to as “the love of [his] life.”

On the show, Ally has discussed how her ultimate career goal is to become a “full-time astrologer,” and on WWHL, James shared that he’s in full support of her career dreams.

“She’s honestly so gifted at what she does,” James said about his girlfriend’s astrology skills. “She’s amazing. She’s been killing it, and I’m honestly so proud of her.”
