Tom Sandoval Shares an Update on His Relationship with Raquel Leviss
Find out where the Vanderpump Rules pair stands following Tom’s split from Ariana Madix.
A little more than a month has passed since Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix broke up, and now he’s opening up about his relationship with Raquel Leviss.
Appearing on the April 11 episode of the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, the Vanderpump Rules cast member first and foremost revealed that, for now, he and Raquel are “really good friends.”
“We’re not putting any label on it,” Tom added. “We’re also just kind of taking a break.”
Host Howie Mandel then asked if Tom and Raquel’s friendship includes “benefits,” but Tom responded, “Not right now.”
Raquel, for her part, has also publicly discussed her relationship with Tom. Shortly after news broke that he and Ariana had split after almost a decade together, Raquel issued a statement to ET in which she apologized to her friends, fans, and Ariana.
“I am reflecting on my choices, speaking to a counselor and I am learning things about myself such as my patterns of codependency and addiction to being and feeling loved,” Raquel’s statement read in part. “I have sought emotional validation through intimate connections that are not healthy without regard for my own well-being, sometimes negatively affecting others and often prioritizing the intimate connection over my friendships. I am taking steps to understand my behavior and make healthier choices.”
In another statement, Raquel directly addressed her “feelings” for Tom. “Besides the indefensible circumstances surrounding our relationship, my feelings for Tom have always been sincere and born out of a loving friendship. Knowing how many people we hurt, I need to understand my choices and learn to make better ones,” she wrote. “I need to take care of my health, work on my self-growth and take time to be ok with being alone. I care for Tom and I don’t want to label anything or predict what lies ahead. Right now I need to heal.”
Tom has previously issued two statements of his own — the first of which included an apology to those feeling “anger” or “disappointment” toward him, as well as Tom Schwartz and their business partners; and the second was an apology to Ariana.
“I can only imagine how devastating this has been for Ariana and everyone around us,” Tom wrote in part. “I feel really horrible about that. My biggest regret is that I dishonored Ariana. I never meant to disappoint so many people, including our loving families and friends.”
Ariana, meanwhile, spoke out for the first time at a much later date in an Instagram post that thanked her friends, family, and fans “for the outpouring of love and support” she has received.
All three Vanderpump Rules cast members recently came face to face at the Season 10 reunion taping. Host Andy Cohen has teased what’s to come on several occasions, and most recently said that there was “a real reckoning.”
