Kate Chastain's Jaw Drops When She Hears What Ashton Pienaar Told Captain Lee Before Leaving the Yacht
"This is breaking news!" the Below Deck chief stew said.
Despite a season full of drama, Kate Chastain and Ashton Pienaar kept things cordial when they said goodbye to one another in the Below Deck Season 7 finale. But when Ashton bid Captain Lee Rosbach a fond farewell, it was a different story, according to the Below Deck boss.
"When he left the boat, he and I had a conversation about you. And he said he didn't regret anything that he had said about you and your inability to operate as a chief stew," Captain Lee told Kate during the Below Deck Season 7 After Show (clip above). "That was his parting shot."
"I told you he wasn't sorry," Kate said in response, before adding that this was the first time she was hearing about this moment between Ashton and Captain Lee. "You never told me that!" Kate told the captain. "This is breaking news!"
According to Captain Lee, Ashton doubled down on his criticism of the chief stew this season. "I gave him the opportunity to retract what he said, and he didn't," Captain Lee said, to which Kate replied by calling Ashton "so fake."
Ashton explained his comments about Kate's skills as a chief stew during the Below Deck Season 7 After Show. "She's getting messy. It's her sixth season being on TV as a yachtie," he said. "She used to be a yachtie; she's now a TV star, and all she's good at is causing drama on camera."
Captain Lee expressed disappointment in the bosun's comments. "And I thought, 'Wow,'" he recalled of their conversation. "I said, 'You're better.'"
