See Why Anisha and Chitra Ramakrishna Are “Hashtag Unbothered” on Family Karma
Chitra explains why she missed Vishal’s wedding and why she thinks Anisha did “enough” despite her late RSVP.
Family Karma Season 3 kicked off with Richa Sadana and Vishal Parvani’s long-awaited wedding weekend, but Anisha Ramakrishna’s last-minute RSVP and subsequent delayed arrival threatened to steal some of the spotlight away from the couple.
During the premiere, Anisha blamed her late response on her recent move to Arizona (she relocated to live with her now-husband, whose identity remains secret).
While Anisha’s presence was a talking point among the group, another notable person was absent from the multiday fete: her mother, Chitra.
In a preview clip for Episode 2, Chitra shares that she missed the nuptials because she “didn’t want to leave [her] parents alone” since she says “they are really old and very fragile.”
Though Chitra technically missed the wedding festivities, she was able to stay up to date thanks to some phone calls from Anisha.
“I don’t call anyone for updates — they call me,” Chitra says during an interview with her daughter. “I get enough calls.”
“She’s hashtag unbothered,” Anisha says about whether her mom has any FOMO. Chitra agrees, but she first says that she’s “hashtack” unbothered, before her daughter corrects her to say “hashtag.”
Speaking of being unbothered, Chitra thinks Vishal should have been appreciative that Anisha showed up to his wedding weekend at all — even if the RSVP arrived late.
“You know, if you are really close, the fact that your friend has showed up should be enough,” she says. “This RSVP business, that’s not a chai that I want to drink all year.”
Chitra thinks her daughter’s efforts were all that mattered, but Vishal is actually quite bothered by his former best friend’s actions.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (which you can watch in the clip above), Vishal says it was “uncomfortable” for him to see Anisha in Mexico because he felt disrespected by her untimely RSVP.
“No person throwing a wedding should be chasing after their guests for an RSVP,” Vishal explains, before adding that Anisha could have told him that she was in the process of moving.
Though many Family Karma fans are hoping that Anisha and Vishal can get back on track in their friendship, the latter cast member confirmed on WWHL that he still hasn’t met Anisha’s husband.
