While eating in the crew mess with several of the Season 11 yachties, Kerry shared some background about his personal life. "I was married, and then that ended. It wasn't good," he said about his past divorce. "I was running a 300-foot yacht. Gave it all up for my kids."
Kerry, who shares a son and a daughter with his ex-wife, pivoted in his career as he was splitting up from his wife.
"I went from being a captain of a multi-million dollar yacht to painting houses," he explained in an interview on the episode. "I went and did a job that I could focus on myself — put my earbuds in, listen to self-help work. I was there for my kids every day and I could get myself better.
As he told the other crew members, he wanted to be around both physically and emotionally for his children. "I was taught, you know, the mom's there to be the emotional support, [and] the dad's there to be the money and the disciplinarian," he said. "And when that happened, it gave me the opportunity to be there for them emotionally as well."
Captain Kerry Titheradge Opens Up About His Relationship with Girlfriend Ghönül Bihan
Since his divorce, Kerry has embarked on a new relationship with girlfriend Ghönül Bihan. Kerry has chronicled his life with Ghönül on his Instagram page (look below to see some of their sweet snaps together), and he opened up about their bond when he spoke with The Daily Dish.
He joked, "I think her hearing's getting worse and her eyesight's getting bad. Because she still thinks I'm beautiful, and she wants to be with [me]."
After Season 11 premiered, Kerry appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen — and Ghönül was in the audience to support the captain.
Host Andy Cohen asked Kerry if any Real Housewives cast members caught his eye during BravoCon 2023.
"Being [that] my love of my life is in the audience, it's very hard to answer that question," Kerry responded.
