Here’s the Real Reason Why Michael Darby Didn’t Come on the RHOP Couples’ Trip
There are also more opinions about Mia Thornton's husband Gordon's behavior from that Season 6 getaway.
The Season 6 trip to Maryland’s Eastern Shore may have been meant for The Real Housewives of Potomac couples, but Ashley Darby's husband, Michael Darby, didn't join her on the getaway. Instead, he stayed home with their two sons, Dean and Dylan.
When Ashley appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday (October 11), she offered more insight into why her husband skipped the trip. "The reason Michael didn't come was he is not really vibing with the men in the group, and he knew that there would be times when it would just be the guys and he didn't really want to be in that position," she said in the Clubhouse on Sunday, the same night Part 2 of the trip was featured in that night's RHOP episode. "And he was like, '[I can] spend time with my kids, or be with some of the fellas who I don't get along with?' It was an easy choice."
Even when things got a bit tense for Ashley on the couples' trip, she added that she actually liked traveling without her partner. "And, no, it felt a little liberating to be there on my own," she said. You can hear more about that in the WWHL clip, above.
Of course, there were RHOP husbands who did make the trip, including Gordon Thornton. Mia Thornton's hubby has been making a splash with the group since they gathered for their vacation.
In fact, Gizelle Bryant made some comparisons between Gordon and Michael in The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 6 After Show. "So we think Michael Darby turns into a different person when he gets to drinking, Michael don't have nothing on Gordon," she said. "Nothing on Gordon. Out of order. OK? All the way out of order."
