Several months after her mom, Ans van den Herik, passed away, Yolanda Hadid is opening up about how much she misses her and how hard it's been since the loss on what would have been her birthday. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum remembered her mom on Instagram after her death last August.
"In memory of my birthday queen in heaven. [Losing] you is the greatest pain I’ve ever experienced," she wrote, sharing photos from a birthday celebration with her mom. "What once felt like love and security, now is a empty hole in my heart that can’t be filled no matter how hard I try. Thank god for photo’s and the memories that keep you alive."
She added, "If I could have just one more day and wishes did come true, we would spend one more birthday side by side with you. Happy birthday mamma, I miss you deeply."
Shortly after her mother's passing and funeral last September, Yolanda opened up about losing her mom and how, at the time, it was "hard to move forward."
There is some happy news for Yolanda's family. Her daughter, Gigi Hadid, recently confirmed she's expecting her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik.
In an interview in April, Yolanda opened up about the exciting news with a reference to her mom's passing. "Of course, we are thrilled... I can't wait to become a grandmother. It is quite special, since I lost my own mother so recently. That is the beauty of life: one soul is leaving us and another is coming. We feel very blessed."
