Yolanda Hadid Pays Tribute to Her Late Mother While Celebrating 56th Birthday
The RHOBH alum is reflecting on a "bittersweet" year in this moving Instagram post.
Yolanda Hadid is taking some to reflect on her birthday. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, who turns 56 today, took to Instagram to share her thoughts on a “bittersweet” year and pay tribute to her late mother, Ans van den Herik, who passed away in August.
In the emotional post, Yolanda discussed the devastating loss of her mother, who died earlier this year after a long battle with cancer. The former model and Lyme disease advocate shared a photo of herself meditating on a beach, with a caption that reads, “Reflecting on this past year is bitter sweet. As much as I’m grateful for the blessings that have come my way, the heartache of loosing [sic] my mam is beyond anything I’ve felt before.”
After sharing how hard it’s been for her to accept her mother’s passing, Yolanda added, “Her caring and her wisdom will live on like a legacy of love within me… Today on my birthday, I want to honor my mamma, my guardian angel in heaven.”
The mom of three also made sure to thank her kids, Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid, for helping her through this difficult time, writing, “I cherish you and the small village that surrounds me today and everyday.”
As she rings her birthday and puts the tumultuous year behind, Yolanda is looking ahead the next chapter of her life, buoyed by the support of her children and her new beau, Joseph Jingoli.
As she concluded in her birthday message, “I’m looking forward to a healthy new year, finally back on my feet and ready to thrive in business, write a new book and continue my fight for a Lyme free world.”
