Carla Hall has both healthy and indulgent recipes in her new cookbook, Carla Hall’s Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration, which she's been showing off on a tour of cooking demonstrations and actual meals around the country. You see, Carla may be a top chef, but she is far from a snob when it comes to eating, as The Feast found out in our latest sit-down with the Bravo's Top Chef alum and former co-host of The Chew.
"I have no shame in my game for my guilty pleasures," she told us. "I go to Chipotle a lot. I have the card [so] that I can eat there every day for a year for free. I do, I do!"
She explained that the company gifted her that veritable golden ticket after participating in one of its Cultivate Festivals a few years back. But how great is it that she is actually using it and publicly proclaiming that she's a card-carrying Chipotle fan?
"OK, are you kidding me?" she said. "I’m, like, I use my card. I love it!"
Plus, Chipotle has some exciting new offerings for Carla to indulge in. Chipotle added quinoa to the menu earlier this year in an attempt to draw in the clean eating crowd (and to move past some heavily reported food-safety issues).
