A Popular Beer Brand Just Issued a Recall for Bottles That May Contain Glass Particles

Read this if you have any Stella Artois in your fridge right now.

Check your beer stash, everyone! Stella Artois is recalling select packages of its bottled brew, because — major yikes ahead! — glass particles can break off the bottle and fall into beer, potentially injuring consumers. In a statement on Monday, April 2, the brand said its a precautionary measure, and the recall "impacts less than one percent" of its bottles, as the issue started in a third-party production facility.

According to Business Insider, Christina Choi, Stella Artois' global brand vice president, clarified the recall, saying, "While the number of potentially affected glass bottles is very small, we are recalling these Stella Artois packages as a precautionary measure. Our team of technical experts has been working with our third-party glass bottle supplier to ensure this packaging flaw has been addressed."

So, what bottles of Stella Artois are being recalled?

Stella Artois' voluntary recall includes select six-, 12-, 18-. and 24-packs of its 11.2-ounce bottles as well as its "Best of Belgium" multipacks.

To see if your Stellas are part of this batch, compare the packaging date with the codes listed in the company's full-length press release. If yours is on the list (eek), you're encouraged to contact Stella Artois for more information, or call the consumer hotline at 855-215-5824.
