Kandi Burruss Gets Refreshingly Honest About Face Filters in a Makeup-Free Post
The Real Housewives of Atlanta singer shows what she looks like on social media with and without filters.
From her honest opinion on her friends' relationships to updates on her many business ventures, you can always count on Kandi Burruss to keep it 100. The Real Housewives of Atlanta mom also has no qualms opening up about more vulnerable topics, including her appearance and insecurities.
In an Instagram post shared on January 13, Kandi got refreshingly honest about using face filters on Instagram. "This is a no-makeup day. Thank god for filters," Kandi quipped in the clip while donning a simple black T-shirt and a high, wavy ponytail. "This filter just took 20 years off my life," she joked.
After testing a couple of different IG filters, including one that gave her "blush and foundation instantly," Kandi decided to show what she looked like without any extra effects.
"I have dark circles. I look tired," she shared in a new, filter-free clip. "Normally, I cover it up with makeup, but I didn't today. Oh well."
Back in April, Kandi explained that she rarely goes makeup-free in pics because she is self-conscious about her dark under eye circles. At the time, she decided to overcome her insecurity and posted a bare-faced photo with some encouragement from her daughter, Riley Burruss.
"[Riley] said I had to be the example for my daughters to show we're beautiful without all the extras. So I put my insecurities to the side for them," she shared.
