Riley Burruss Shares an Update on How She's Adjusting to Living at NYU

Kandi Burruss' daughter says there's "still some concern" with one particular element of her new chapter.

In the most recent season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss shared the emotional journey of watching her oldest daughter, Riley Burruss, go off to college for the very first time. Although Riley was super excited to move to New York City to attend New York University, Kandi had some concerns about how well her daughter would fare on her own. During a May 9 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, in which Riley appeared along 12 other kids from Bravo, she shared an update on how her freshman year went down.

When asked what she’s been up to lately, Riley said, “I moved to New York. I am a freshman at NYU. I’m starting to focus more on YouTube, so that’s that. But I’m just chillin’, really.” She also opened up about her grades, adding, “I did pretty well. Good enough. Of course, [I'm] adjusting.”

Andy Cohen then came in with a specific question about Riley’s daily life: “Have you learned to clean up after yourself? There was some concern before you left about that.”

Riley followed up with a very honest response. “Yeah, there’s still some concern,” she said. “I just choose to spend a couple extra dollars to get someone else to do it.”

In a recent Bravo Insider interview, Riley reflected more on her first year of college. "I'm still learning, it's a lot of pressure as well, but I'm getting a lot of help. I just talk to my mom when I'm stressed. But I'm still learning how to proceed. I think I've definitely learned that I depend on my household more than I realize. Even times where I may not be feeling well, and I'm like, 'Well, I wish I was home so all of them could take care of me.' I guess that's just what happens when you move out on your own."
