In 2019, Jennifer Aydin underwent a tummy tuck procedure performed by her plastic surgeon husband, Dr. Bill Aydin. Two years later, she was on the operating table again for a nose job and a chin implant, but there was a plot twist: Rather than turning to her husband, The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom sought out a surgeon on the other side of the world.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/7c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

"I went to a doctor in Turkey that I found on Instagram," Jennifer shared on RHONJ's Season 12 premiere on February 1. "After having my tummy tuck last year will Bill, he told me that I was the worst patient in the world, and he was never doing surgery on me ever again."

In an exclusive chat with Bravo Insider, Jennifer shed more light on the decision. "I have to say that being the patient who's also the wife of the doctor is not always a good dynamic," she shared in the July interview. "When I was a patient for my tummy tuck, I would call [Bill] for every little thing, and if he didn't respond to my text right away, because I'm his wife, I would just call, and I'd be like, 'Is this normal? This just happened. Why is this happening?'... And he's like, 'You cannot call me and ambush me when I'm with other patients.'"

She added: "Basically, he was like, 'I’m never touching you again. Go to somebody else. Let somebody else handle all of your little crazy things.'"

But when you live with one of New Jersey's top plastic surgeons, "somebody else" can't just be anybody else. As for the doctor in Turkey, Dr. Mustafa Ali Yanik, Jennifer said: "People come from all over the world to see him, so I trusted his opinion."

Although Jennifer had mixed feelings about her new look after the surgery, she's confident her decision to pick a surgeon other than her husband was the right one. "I think it’s better because... I don’t know if I love [the chin implant]," she said in July. "I would just get mad if [Bill] had done it. So, it's probably good he didn’t do it."

Months later, Jennifer opted to have the chin procedure reversed. "I had my chin implant taken out today," she said while sporting a bandage on her lower jaw in a January 31 Instagram Story. "Looking good already." For her chin explant, Jennifer found yet another surgeon for the task: Dr. Ramtin Kassir, a triple board-certified New Jersey plastic surgeon who has also worked on Sonja MorganRHONJ alum Jacqueline Laurita's daughter Ashlee Malleo, and Margaret Josephs' mother Marge Sr
