Surprising Things about Ramona Singer

With all the faux bobs popping up these days (both Kyle Richards and Stassi Schroeder recently rocked the look), whenever we see a fresh Bravoleb hair change, we're sure to take an extra close look. That's why we were giddy to learn that Ramona Singer seems to have gotten a good old fashioned "real" haircut. On February 22, The Real Housewives of New York City blonde showed off a chop that's dramatically different from her typical style.

How to Watch

Ramona turned to celebrity stylist Julius Michael to take a whopping eight inches off of her buttery mane, and she's in love with the adorable choppy bob that resulted. In fact, "in love" may be an understatement!

"I was shocked by how good it looks!” Ramona told People. “This rocks! I look really hot. It’s like a new me.” Though she's smitten by the style now, it took some convincing to get Ramona to go short.

"I haven’t had short hair probably in about seven years,” she said. “For me, I sometimes get nervous about short hair, thinking that it’s hard to maintain. But with this cut, Julius promises me it’s easy to maintain and sexy because it’s all layered. It’s not a blunt cut and it has a lot of movement to it.”

The stylist added: "Ramona’s out on the market, dating and having fun. I wanted her to have hair that reflect that and wasn’t dragging her down,” he says. “She’s 61, but she looks 41. This is the perfect, light look for her.”

And speaking of light: if Ramona's hair color looks a few shades lighter, it's because Michael used L’Oréal Blonde studio multi technique lightener to make her highlights stand out.

Ramona isn't the first Housewife who's gotten Michael's royal treatment. The stylist has also worked with Danielle Staub, Tamra Judge, and Peggy Sulahian. And, he's the very same stylist who gave Lisa Rinna her first long style in years.

Even though the style is short, you'll note that it has tons of volume. That's thanks, in part, to Hidden Crown clip-ins. "I always like to add a few clip-ins for extra volume. They’re super easy to clip-in and clip-out — and easy way to make a big impact,” said Michael.

And if we know anything about Ramona, it's that she likes to make an impact!
