Luann de Lesseps Is "Happy to Be Moving on" from Her Iconic Round House
The Real Housewives of New York City cast member is packing up and leaving her unique Catskills retreat for good.
During her time as the owner of "the round house," Luann de Lesseps hosted at least one memorable ladies' trip (see the clip above) — and raised an eyebrow or two. The Countess' circular Catskills home wasn't for everyone, to say the least. And when Luann acquired the house in 2019, her friends had comments about everything from its shape to its relatively secluded location.
In the end, the cabaret star did enjoy using the riverside house as an escape from city life — but only for a time. Back in August, The Real Housewives of New York City cast member announced her plans to sell her statement-making country home.
"I just never get up there,” she said then. “And... you know, my kids are in the Hamptons. So between the Hamptons and the city, my dance card is kind of full.” (As you may recall, Lu also has a gorgeous Sag Harbor home and a chic abode on the Upper West Side.)
By late September, Luann was knee-deep in moving her things from her erstwhile country house. But first, she took one last look around it in her Instagram Stories. Showing her Catskills living room mid-move, with an upside-down Marilyn Monroe painting in the midst of it all, she said: "Parting is such sweet sorrow ... This house is so special. I'll miss it. But, onward, to the next! Who knows where life takes us?"
Stepping out onto the balcony, Luann watched a ship glide down the Hudson River. "Absolutely gorgeous," she mused.
On her feed, the singer shared a photo of herself posing in front of that gorgeous river. "This beautiful home has been so special to me during a really difficult time in my life," she wrote. "Happy to be moving on."
