Why New RHONY Housewife Sai De Silva Says Fashion Blogging "Sort of Fell into My Lap"
Sai De Silva, a fashion blogger and social media influencer, joins a new and diverse cast of Housewives taking over New York City for Season 14.
With a new season of The Real Housewives of New York City growing and glowing on the horizon, we’re going to mention it all by checking out a new ‘Wife and her most noteworthy moments in the fashion industry.
Digital creator and social media influencer Sai De Silva is part of an all-new and diverse cast sweeping through the city that never sleeps in RHONY Season 14 — and with quite the résumé under her belt, as seen on her highly aesthetic Instagram page. Though she might be a name new to the most devoted fans, she’s certainly no stranger to the fashion scene, both in the Big Apple and abroad.
The New York City mother-of-two and creator of the wildly popular Scout The City fashion blog recently said in an interview with Grazia that she came late to the game when working as a PR intern for Alberta Ferretti at 28 years old. She said the blog became an outlet for her, something she liked to do with her daughter, London Scout.
“Somehow, it kind of turned into a career after BuzzFeed picked it up, and they wrote an article on it,” said Sai. “People started talking about it, and I thought, ‘Wait a minute, is this a job?’ It just kind of fell into my lap.”
Scout the City features “structured silhouettes and whimsical styles,” according to BuzzFeed’s 2021 assessment when including Sai as one of the best Latinx fashion and beauty influencers.
According to her YouTube page, boasting more than 50,000 subscribers and millions of views, Sai refers to her creative content as being “glamorous with a side of chaos and humor.”
Fashion has taken Sai around the world to the industry’s most nonpareil events, including Fashion Weeks in Paris, Milan, and New York, the trifecta of the world’s chic fashion capitals. Sai continues passing milestone after milestone, identifying as an AfroLatina woman making strides in the business.
During this year’s Fashion Week in her hometown of New York City, Sai posted stunning photo after stunning photo, wearing fashion-forward and awe-inspiring ensembles by the likes of Michael Kors and Brandon Maxwell, all while rubbing elbows with the industry’s elite.
An off-the-shoulder and plunging flower power look by Carolina Herrera — where black and blue floral fabric met matching floral heels — was among one of Sai’s most stylish NYFW attires. A denim-on-denim look for the Brandon Maxwell show was also en vogue, both hailed by followers for being perfectly put together.
Luxury ready-to-wear brand Altuzarra loved Sai’s “A night in” look, featuring a fresh bob haircut and chunky white heels.
At Milan Fashion Week, which begins in late February and just days after New York Fashion Week ends, Sai killed it by wearing exquisite looks by Roberto Cavalli, Missoni, and Alberta Ferretti, among others, stating, “Every day is a fashion show, and Milan is my runway.”
Sai said she was “living the life” with her Brunello Cucinelli fam, sporting loose-fitting but unblemished navy and a matching silk ascot and shades, all tied together with a brown leather belt. But it was all safari stripes when Sai flaunted her flowing “Tiger Queen” look by Robert Cavalli.

While in a gorgeous vertical-striped multi-colored ensemble by Missoni, she said, “People will stare. Make it worth their while.”
She later posed as her “husband’s pin-up girl” at Milan’s five-star Hotel Principe Di Savoia. Bellissimo!
Although fashion can be a serious business, Sai told Grazia she doesn’t take herself too seriously, such as when she had “a little too much fun” during a recent shopping trip at Celine.
When not hilariously reminding fans to wear their sunscreen, she continues to partner with some of the biggest names in fashion and beauty, including luxury jewelry brand David Yurman, Lancôme, Ralph Lauren fragrances, and Victoria’s Secret, just to name a few.
Now, Sai adds joining the Housewives franchise to her already-impressive résumé. In October, she told E! Insider the RHONY series was getting a “clean slate” but largely kept mum on the details.
“This is definitely going to be something new and refreshing,” she said.
Sai was confirmed to be joining the all-new cast for Season 14 during Bravo Con 2022, and so was Ubah Hassan, Erin Dana Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield.
“Right now, the sky’s the limit,” she told Grazia. “I’m just going to ride this wave and see where it goes.”
