Mia Thornton Clarifies if She's Engaged After Wearing a Diamond Ring at BravoCon 2023
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member is responding to rumors about her relationship status amid her separation from Gordon Thornton.
At BravoCon 2023, Mia Thornton opened up about her dating life amid her separation from her husband, Gordon Thornton.
“I’m having fun,” The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member said during a November 4 panel. “Gordon and I have been together for almost 15 years, and we’ve been married for 10, right? So, we’re separated. We’re legally separated, and I feel like I just want to have fun, right? I’m outside a little bit.”
Mia was hesitant to share more details at the time, simply hinting that there “may be” someone "special" in her life these days. However, she sparked some other questions about her relationship status during the event weekend when she was spotted wearing an eye-catching diamond ring.
On the December 10 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Mia clarified whether that ring signifies that she's currently engaged.
Is Mia Thornton engaged?
During the WWHL episode, Andy noted, "You wore a big diamond ring to BravoCon this year, which sparked some engagement rumors." Mia nodded in agreement and was quick to explain, "I'm not engaged." Still, she shared, "I am committed."
Details on Mia and Gordon Thornton's separation
Mia announced her separation from Gordon in September, telling PEOPLE in a statement. "At this time, Gordon and I are separated, but my family is my number one priority, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure we are okay."
During her recent WWHL Clubhouse appearance, she shared more details on the current situation with Gordon, whom she calls "G." In the video above, Mia clarified that they are "separated," not divorced, and explained that "a sequence of events" ended up putting "a strain" on their marriage.
Are Mia Thornton and Gordon Thornton still living together?
As Mia explained during the WWHL episode, she and Gordon are not still living together as they navigate their separation. "I have my own place," she said. "The kids have a house, and we co-parent in the kids' house. I have my own place, and he has his own place. So the kids don't have to move around."
"That's actually kinda brilliant," Andy said. "But also expensive."
Mia laughed and said, "Extremely."
