Chef Fatima Ali Carved a Pumpkin for the First Time Ever — and Obviously Nailed It

Bravo's Top Chef Season 15 Fan Favorite winner Fatima Ali continues to inspire: Since she made the heartbreaking announcement that her cancer is now considered terminal, the chef has demonstrated her commitment to sopping up all of life's pleasures in her remaining days. She's indulging in dreamy meals while moving through a list of her "bucket list" restaurants among cherished friends. And now she's trying a new first — and it's a simpler pleasure than $595 sushi.
"Wish me luck," she wrote on Instagram over a photo of a pumpkin set atop a newspaper-lined counter. "First time carving a pumpkin."
Well, would you expect anything less than natural pumpkin-carving talent from Chef Fatima, who knows her way around a set of knives?
In the next frame, she showed the finished product: two perfect jack-o-lanterns, traditional and toothy — and nary a splatter of pumpkin innards in sight.
"So much fun!" she wrote. "Now I know why people enjoy doing this."
