Everyone from the merest of mortals to Kim Kardashian did their share of over-indulging this holiday season — and now that it's January and officially a new year, well... it's more than time to pay the piper.

How to Watch

Watch Top Chef Season 21 Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and next day on Peacock.

Bravo's Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi has just the recipe you need to get the year started in a detoxifying way, and she's shared a full tutorial on her Instagram for how to make it. In a series of intimate videos, a robe-clad Padma demonstrates the exact method of preparation for the "cranberry Drano"-like cleanse she has previously referenced and still swears by.

"So, the holidays are over, most of us have indulged — and we probably need a detox... just like I do every time I do Top Chef because I'm full of food," Padma said to begin her video tutorial. "And at New Year's and after the holidays — you're full of food and drink. So one method I have found that works for me is something I call 'Cranberry Drano,' because it clears all the pipes, it gets things moving, and it just kind of makes you feel purified."

Word to the wise: This one's also great for treating a urinary tract infection — which Padma euphemistically refers to as (ahem) "honeymooner's disease."

Without further ado, here's Padma's precise ingredient list — and how to prepare it in her own colorful, casual words.

Padma Lakshmi's 'Cranberry Drano' Detox Cleanse Recipe

  • ½ cup organic unsweetened 100 percent cranberry juice
  • 1 tbsp. clear fiber powder
  • 1 packet Emergen-C, or other vitamin C powder
  • 1 cup still-hot green tea brewed with 1 tsp. honey
  • 4 to 5 ice cubes

All I'm doing is I'm steeping a tea bag that's green tea, in a cup of water. You could add honey to this or sugar; I recommend honey. You want to add about a teaspoon — not too much, because the point of this is to detox and you don't want to add too much sugar. But you will need a little bit of sugar because we're adding to this pure cranberry juice that's unsweetened and not from concentrate and it's very intense and very sour, but it's really great for cleaning everything out.

Just use a cup of tea and half a cup of cranberry juice. You can eyeball it. It's as much as you're willing to take. Don't be a masochist, start slow... because it's super-duper intense.

To that I'm adding a Vitamin C packet. I like super orange Emergen-C, but you can use any Vitamin C powder. I do that because it gives me the Vitamin C, B vitamins, electrolytes — I feel that it's helpful to take all my medicine in one glass. Then I use a scoop of fiber powder — you don't want to overdo it with that for the obvious reasons.

Mix this all up. Get a really tall tumbler, fill it with ice, because you will want this cold. And then I drink this fast — honestly, this is not a cocktail or an Arnold Palmer. You want to get this over with.

Cheers!
