Stassi Schroeder Reveals the (Very!) Early Age She Started Getting Botox
Still, the Vanderpump Rules author insists she won't go for a completely frozen expression: "I have it down to a science."
On the debate over whether or not preventative Botox works, we think we know Stassi Schroeder's answer. The Vanderpump Rules beauty has been turning to the wrinkle-freezing cosmetic injectable for years: she just revealed to People magazine that she started getting Botox at the (very young!) age of 23.
"I’ve always done it conservatively, and I have it down to a science," Stassi explained about her Botox philosophy. "I know exactly how much I like to get, where I like to get it, and I always tell my doctor, ‘You know, I need to have some expression.’ I like people to see how I’m feeling. I’m on reality TV: If I’m angry, people need to know it."
Stassi's not the only one who started Botox in her twenties: The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Heather Dubrow started at age 27. ("22 years later, I'm line-free," Heather says.) Meanwhile, 29-year-old SURver Lala Kent is all about sharing her Botox process and Southern Charm boutique owner Naomie Olindo, also in her twenties, indulges in the cosmetics treatment too.
"I’ve never been somebody that’s so addicted to freezing my face. It’s not about freezing your face, to me, it’s just about getting rid of my wrinkles," Stassi continued. "We all have wrinkles, and when my makeup starts seeping into my lines, that’s when I know I need to get Botox. I’m like, ‘Ughhh, it’s time to go back!'”
But it's a procedure she does entirely for herself, she explained. “I have to be me," Stassi said. "I have to do what I want to do to my face and my body and feel good about myself. It’s not for somebody else.”
