Since she announced her divorce from Jason Hoppy late last year, Bethenny Frankel’s life has been anything but private: she's been a tabloid fixture, and her romantic life has fallen under intense scrutiny—is she or isn't she dating her friend Warren Lichtenstein?— as she raises the couple's daughter, Bryn.
Now, the former Real Housewives of New York City star is opening up about how her ongoing battle with her ex has been wearing on her emotionally.
"It's been hard," she tells Life & Style "It’s been difficult to stay sane."
Despite the burdens of going through a divorce—Bethenny and Jason are reportedly still living together, raising their little girl—she's trying to see an upside to her pain.
"For every rough thing there’s a reason for it, and there’s a reason you had those struggles," she continues. "When you’re going through a rough time, you have to say, 'I know I’m going through these hard things and even though it’s difficult to see it clearly...the light is coming at the end of it.'"
Things do seem to be on the up-and-up for Bethenny. She was spotted traveling with her rumored beau Warren Lichtenstein last month. (Bethenny has made sure to say that getting married yet again is not on her list of "things to do"!)
But through it all, there’s one shining star in Bethenny’s life: Bryn.
“She is unbelievable,” Bethenny says. “She is the light of my life, and she gets me through this.”
Luckily, Bethenny also has something positive to look forward to: The September 8 premiere of her talk show, Bethenny.
"We’re shooting two shows a day, three days a week—I’m really going hard-core," she adds.
Jason knew what he was getting into. I think that Bethany is a great mother I don't find her selfish at all .She has worked very hard for her career and goals in her life. Hang in there girl it does get better
Bethenny is one of the most selfish people I have EVER seen. I used to really enjoy her. Jason seems like a wonderful son, dad and husband. Bethenny refuses to compromise by understanding Bryn's grandparents want to be a part of Bryn's life, and they should be. Bethenny treats Jason like a dog and I don't blame him for standing up and fighting back. He and his parents are the only sane ones in the bunch!
