Captain Lee Wants to Officiate Kate Chastain and Ben Robinson's Wedding
If these two ever tied the knot, the #BelowDeck boss wants to be a part of their big day.
Even though you could cut the sexual tension between Kate Chastain and Ben Robinson with a knife last season of Below Deck, the two maintained at the Season 3 reunion that they are only and will only ever be just friends. But then Ben posted this intimate photo of himself and Kate getting cozy earlier this week, causing us to wonder if the door was really closed on the two taking their relationship into romantic territory once again.
Who better to weigh in on Ben and Kate's compatibility than their boss Captain Lee Rosbach, who has gotten a front-row seat to the pair at work and at play over the past two seasons? As it turns out, Captain Lee is 'shipping Ben and Kate as much as we all are. "I think they'd make a great couple," Captain Lee told The Daily Dish.
Captain Lee has caught up with both Ben and Kate since the Below Deck reunion aired in November, but he unfortunately didn't have any deets to spill on the current status of their relationship. However, he did elaborate on why he thinks he could eventually see them becoming a couple, even though they have had their fair share of disputes on Below Deck. "Kate's not afraid to stand up to Ben and just turn around and walk away from him if she doesn't like what he's saying or what he's doing, and neither is Ben. And then it seems when they both calm down, they come back, and they can disagree without being malicious and mean, which I think is a great quality," Captain Lee explained. "They might not always see eye-to-eye on everything — on a lot of things — but they allow each other to have their own opinions without saying, 'Oh, you know, you don't see things my way, so this isn't going to work.' Well, that's not how relationships work."
However, compatibility might not be what's standing in the way of Ben and Kate taking their relationship to the next level. "Now how long it might take them to admit to themselves and to each other that there might be something? That's a horse of a different color," Captain Lee said.
But if Ben and Kate ever did decide to give love a shot, who knows? Maybe they could end up tying the knot. Wouldn't we all love to see Captain Lee officiate their wedding, as he did for a couple of charter guests on Season 1 of Below Deck? Well, Captain Lee is certainly a fan of that idea. "Wow. Wow. That would be something," he said. "I would not miss that one. Wherever I happened to be, I would be there for that without a doubt. That's a great scenario."
