Shannon Beador Says She Was Not "Singling Out Kelly" to Drink in Ireland

Shannon on Getting Kelly Drunk

Many of Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd's interactions this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County have been memorable, but a recent moment really raised some eyebrows among fans. During the ladies' last night in Ireland, it appeared to some viewers that Shannon was pressuring Kelly to join in the drinking at dinner even though she initially declined to imbibe.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

When Shannon stopped by Watch What Happens Live on Monday, she defended her actions during the ladies' get-together. "First of all, I doubled everybody's drink because a single was this much. So I said can we get a double because it took forever. Kelly talked that entire day about wanting to go out that night," Shannon explained. "All of a sudden, she showed up completely tired. But during the trip, she told us tequila was an upper. So I ordered tequila for the entire table; it was not just singling out Kelly."

Shannon went on to say that if Kelly really didn't really want to drink that night, she could have refused the cocktails. "And oh, she's a big girl. Don't drink it then. She said earlier that day at the picnic, 'I just want to pace myself.' Vicki [Gunvalson] was drinking her drink. Tamra [Judge] was drinking a little bit. Heather [Dubrow] was drinking. Just say no," Shannon said. "Vicki was pouring drinks down everybody's throats the day before. Are we jumping on her ass?"

Tamra, who said she was actually just drinking water during that night, also came to Shannon's defense on WWHL and confirmed that she was ordering drinks for everyone at the dinner, not just Kelly. "I just tried to have fun," Shannon added.

Of course, any hope of having fun for the rest of the Ireland trip seemed to go out the window later that night and into the morning during the ladies' bus ride from Hell to the airport. Check out the dramatic conclusion to the vacay, below.
