Find Out the Email Teresa Giudice Got from Joe During Her Father's Health Scare

Teresa Giudice's new book Standing Strong takes fans deep inside her life following her 2015 release from prison as she tries to acclimate to life as a busy mom and caretaker while her husband, Joe Giudice, serves 41 months in jail. In the prologue for the release, The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom details a trip to the ER following a health scare for her dad.

At that point, Teresa's mom had recently died and she was sleep deprived from constant work and family commitments. She was woken up by her dad after his nose started bleeding and together they rushed to the emergency room. In an excerpt posted by Us Weekly, she recalled getting an email from Joe while at the hospital.

"While I was sitting in the ER waiting for the doctor to examine my father, I checked my phone to find a new message on CorrLinks, the email system used by inmates who are in a federal prison," she writes. "My husband, Joe, is currently serving a forty-one-month sentence, but you already know that, just like you know that I spent eleven and a half months of my life inside a federal prison camp for women in Danbury, Connecticut. (And if you didn't know that, you should read my last book, Turning the Tables.) Like Frank Sinatra, my husband did it his way. And look where it got us."

She continued: "So there I sat on that particular Sunday at 4:00 a.m. in the ER waiting room, reading Joe's email from late Saturday night, just a few hours before, asking me in a not-so-polite way where I was, who I was with, and what I was doing at that moment. Was he f---ing kidding me?"

The excerpt also details a second health scare for her dad that landed them again in the hospital. "I was up bright and early the following morning, and guess where I was? Back at the hospital with my father. He was still coughing up blood, and now he was having trouble breathing," she recalls. "They were admitting him. I was in a panic. Over the last few months I had spent so much time in hospitals, I felt like an extra on Grey's Anatomy."
