Lala Kent Says Why She Bought Her Daughter, Ocean, an $800 Louis Vuitton Bag

Last month, Lala Kent celebrated her daughter Ocean Kent Emmett's first birthday. To mark the occasion, the Vanderpump Rules mom threw a lavish under-the-sea-themed bash and presented her little one with an extravagant gift: a mini two-tone Louis Vuitton leather purse. During Lala's appearance on the April 11 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the mom addressed why she really gave Ocean the luxury accessory — and of course, her response was so Lala.

While answering the titular host's questions from fans, the mom was asked, "Lala, what was your reason for buying your daughter an $800 handbag she can't even use?" Lala's reply was short, sweet, and to the point: "Because I can," she quipped.

Lala shared even more background behind her birthday present to Ocean in a series of March 22 Instagram Stories. "I know a lot of you are going to think I'm nuts, but hear me out," Lala wrote about the $880 purchase. "I really have a love for bags. My grandmother passed a lot of hers [on to] me, and I will one day pass them on to O. For my baby [girl's] first birthday, I wanted to get her her first bag."

In the same set of Stories, Lala explained that she has her own Louis Vuitton Petit Sac Plat ($1,820) to match Ocean's. "My little twin," she wrote on a snapshot of her and Ocean with their purses.
