Are Brides Really Wearing Their Veils to the Beach?
If not on your honeymoon, when?
When you're the bride, you call the shots—and that applies to everything from fondant to honeymoon attire. So, if you want to wear your veil to sip Mai Tais on a poolside lounger in Hawaii, you can go right ahead. Need proof? At Miami Swim Week, models strutted the runways in white, lacy styles that would be right at home at the altar (um, if they weren't bikinis.) Here's a look at some styles perfectly suited to a tropical honeymoon or a bachelorette party in Las Vegas.
Blue Life, a Cali-based brand that specializes in bohemian styles, sent this intricately beaded style down the runway.
Need something to toss on for your trip to the poolside bar? Blue Life's jacket will remind them who's boss. Excuse us—bride.
For Love & Lemons, another California brand, showed a flirty white cover-up paired with tomato-red espadrilles and a giant sun hat.
Another lacy For Love & Lemons look was dressed up with a polka-dotted scarf and a dainty parasol. And, the two images above aren't lying: espadrilles are red-hot this summer.
Why play it casual—or go without epaulettes—when you can rock this? The bejeweled style was by Rocky Gathercole, a Philippines-based designer who specializes in avant-garde fashion. (Surprise! He also does outrageous wedding gowns.)
