John Mayer Takes Note From Taylor Swift, Writes Song About Missing Katy Perry

“Who else would I be thinking about?” he said.

John Mayer is taking a page from his ex Taylor Swift, and is writing about his other ex, Katy Perry.

In a new tune called “Still Feel Like Your Man,” the singer, who stresses he's almost 40, sings that he still keeps her shampoo in his shower (what kind??) and reveals other intimate details from their two-year on-again off-again relationship.

“Who else would I be thinking about?” he told The New York Times in a new interview promoting his new album, adding, “And by the way, it’s a testament to the fact that I have not dated a lot of people in the last five, six years. That was my only relationship. So it’s like, give me this, people.”

The two broke up for good in 2014. Or maybe there’s hope now?

John is serious now about dropping the bad boy image he’s been stuck with after dating a string of Hollywood actresses and singers and dishing about his sex life publicly. He says he even wants to settle down and have kids soon.

“I wish there was somebody to throw me the 40th,” he said, adding, “I want the baby with the protective earphones [at my shows]…I’m right on time for my career, and I’m running late for my life,” he says.

He’s been lying low in Montana the past few years where he recorded his last two albums and has been reflecting on his life.

“My GPS was shattered, just shattered,” he said of his life at the time, but that the wide open land helped his spirit.

“It’s rivers and cows,” he said. “There’s no sexuality there.”

Since splitting with Katy, John says he’s hardly dated, except for a some chit chat on an exclusive dating app.

“It’s just lot of chatter,” he said. “We all talk to the same people. There are very few people actually meeting up.”

Maybe there’s hope yet.

Katy called it quits with Orlando Bloom recently, so she’s single again.
