Kristin Chenoweth is many things: A Tony and Emmy Award winner. A Bravo superfan. A cheese, crackers, and jelly gourmand. But perhaps, most importantly, an animal lover. Diehard fans will remember her companion dog Maddie, a Maltese that frequently traveled with Cheno and became a mini celebrity in her own right. So when Maddie passed away at 14 years old—while “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” played in the background—Kristin understandably needed some time to heal.
But on January 7th, Kristin proved that she was ready for puppy love once again. “And then God delivered #Thunder,” she announced on Twitter. “Welcome to the Chenoweth family, Thunder!!! And THANK YOU to @SpotRescueDogs! #rescue #proudmama.” The sweet rescue mutt was named after the Oklahoma City Thunder (Kristin’s favorite basketball team), and within a few Instagram posts (PLEASE SEE THE ONE WHERE SHE TEARS DOWN A FANCY HOTEL HALLWAY!), she became our newest celeb-pup obsession. Behold, Thunder:
That time she ate a whole bag of patties:
That time she tore down the hallway of a fancy hotel:
That time she was unconvinced about the joys of bathing:
That time she lived that sweet vacay life:
That time she stopped to smell the roses:
That time she ate air conditioning:
That time she embraced her southern roots:
That time she took to the step-and-repeat:
That time she got all dressed up for her namesake basketball team:
That time she was straight-up vicious:
And, of course, that forever-time she had permanent tickets to private Kristin Chenoweth concerts (ugh, jealous):
