The Real Reason Fans Are Upset With Kylie Jenner's New Birthday Collection

In the latest news from Kylie Cosmetics world, it appears that fans have an issue with Kylie Jenner's 20th Birthday collection.

Earlier this week, Kylie launched her brand’s new birthday collection, which includes an array of pink shadows, shimmery highlighters, and mini lip kits. While many fans were ecstatic at the news of her all-pink collection, many of their sentiments toward the line abruptly changed after the brand revealed the collection’s price list.

As Refinery29 spotted, many fans quickly took to Twitter after learning the price points of this new collection. Note: They are significantly higher than prices for Kylie's previous Gold birthday collection.

Last year, the entire birthday bundle was priced at $195 while this year’s collection will cost you $325. A few of last year’s limited-edition items included; the Leo Lip Kit for $30, the Lord Metal Matte for $19, Creme Eyeshadows for $20 each, a Mini Lip Kit Set for $36, and the Dark Bronze Kyliner Kit for $38.

While this year’s collection does have a larger price overall, many of the individual products actually have a similar price to last year’s like the Mini Lip Kit Sets for $36, the lip glosses for $15 each, and the makeup bag for $36.

TBH, it’s really only the bedazzled Lip Kit in Candy K and the Birthday Book palette that have made the price range of this collection over-the-top. The entire collection may have more products this year, but $60 for a lipstick does sound a bit absurd, no matter how pretty it is.

Nevertheless, it appears that there are also many fans who are willing to fork over the cash for these limited-edition goodies because the brand had to restock the entire collection today at 3:00PM EST.
