The family that wears matching bandanas together, stays together: that’s our brand-new adage inspired by an amazing multi-breed, multi-species rescue family.
It all began when Kasey Boggs, then 19, discovered that her pet store pup—a terrier named Roxy—was missing a hip joint (a common deformity in puppy mills). With the help of a vet, she not only saved Roxy’s life, but also successfully filed a complaint against the pet store for selling sick animals with false paperwork, effectively getting the store shut down.
Since then, Kasey and her husband Blake have been rescuing all the animals they can handle. Their family includes Roxy, another terrier (Edith), two Pit Bulls (Rose and Jake), and a cat (Mia). As if that weren’t enough, the Boggs brought in two ducklings—Gertrude and Donald—to round out their robust crew.
Their next addition? A baby boy! Announced with the help of their pack, of course!
You can read all about Kasey’s rescues (each one has their own unique, tear-jerking survival story) over on I Pitty the Bull. And, of course, you can follow the furry, feathered collective on their Instagram, where they share amazing photos from their family hikes along with uplifting bon mots.
Congratulations to the Boggs family! We are excited to watch your beautiful family grow (with both humans and animals alike).
