This $8 Beauty Product Sold Out in One Minute

Apparently, churro is the new rainbow.

Rainbow highlighters are so yesterday. These days, everyone's clambering to get their hands on ColourPop's "Churro" highlighter, which sold out in precisely one minute when it became available yesterday.

According to Allure, the online makeup company hosted a social media promotion just two days before it released the highlighter, asking fans to vote on three colors they'd like to see swirled together in a palette.

The winning combo mixes "coppery peach" with pink and gold shimmer; there are also light swirls of silver glitter. If this sounds like something a fairy princess would carry in her Caboodle, it is. The product promises to deliver an ethereal, golden sheen that's akin to an airbrushed effect. And here's the real kicker: the price tag on this Cabbage Patch Kid of beauty products is a mere $8.

If you're not familiar with ColourPop, you're not alone—but you do need to start following more beauty bloggers. The two-year-old company, which is based in Southern California, uses social-media "influencers" to market itself; it's beloved by in-the-know beauty pros like vlogger Kathleen Lights and even Kylie Jenner. And, get this: most of its products cost less than $10.

In any case, Churro is off the market for now. But, while you wait for it to become available again, may we suggest sating your appetite with some pizza?
